    Erin Shapcott B.Kin, MScPT, AFCI

    Erin Shapcott graduated from The University of Western Ontario (UWO) with her Masters of Physiotherapy. Prior to this, she attended McGill University and completed a Bachelor in Kinesiology and a Masters in Sport Psychology with a focus on sport related concussions. Erin has currently completed her Level III Manual Therapy courses and is looking forward to continuing post-graduate education to become a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physical Therapists. She has also completed courses in soft tissue release, acupuncture, golf rehabilitation and injury prevention, concussion management, as well as prevention and treatment of running injuries. She is a strong advocate for athletics and fitness; and is a certified personal trainer and Yoga instructor. In her spare time she enjoys running, crossfit and golfing. Erin helps her clients reach their full potential through education, manual therapy techniques, and exercise prescription

    Robin Valadares BScH (KIN), MSc(PT)

    A graduate of Physiotherapy, Robin Valadares received his Master’s at McMaster University in 2012. Previous to that, in 2010 he obtained a Bachelor of Kinesiology from Queen’s University. At Queen’s University he was the varsity Basketball trainer, helping athletes with their off and on the court training and rehab. Robin Valadares is very sports oriented, is credentialed with Sports Physiotherapy of Canada, and is pursuing his Sports Diploma. He has a special interest in manual therapy; he is currently completing his Level III therapy levels. His therapy is founded on manual therapy, home exercises, education and acupuncture. Outside the clinic, Robin is an avid golfer and a general sports enthusiast. During his spare time he is an on field physiotherapist for the Goan Soccer League in Toronto. He is a faithful and ever hopeful fan of the Maple Leafs.

    Alicia Jury B.Kin.(Hons), MScPT, AFCI

    Alicia Jury graduated in 2007 with a Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto where she was able to gain clinical experience in a variety of settings such as orthopedics, neurology and post surgical. Prior to attending U of T she received an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology degree from McMaster University with a focus on exercise physiology and anatomy. During her time at Mac she was a member of the Women’s Varsity Basketball team, an athletic therapist for the Men’s Volleyball team and the program coordinator of a therapeutic program for individuals with spinal cord injury. She has a passion for sport and fitness; spending most of her free time playing basketball and softball or coaching basketball. Alicia has taken post graduate courses in Vestibular Rehabilitation and is consulted in the Halton region for care for these clients. Alicia continues to gain experience in the field of orthopedics and continues to pursue further courses in acupuncture and manual therapy.

    Dana Clark is the Director of Sheddon Physiotherapy and Sports Clinic. His team consists of some of the best therapists specializing in the treatment and care of all athletes, from the recreational to the professional elite athlete. Since 2004, Sheddon Physiotherapy and Sports Clinic has been providing our clients with the care needed to maintain peak health. The Quebec City native received his Degree in Physiotherapy from The University of Toronto. Dana worked in Orthopaedics at St Michael’s Hospital prior to becoming Director of The Sports Medicine Specialists in Toronto. In 2004, Dana brought his vision to life at Sheddon, creating a multi-disciplinary team of experts to tackle even the most complicated injuries. Dana continues to build an extensive professional referral network with the best trainers and medical specialists.     Dr. Carol Aiken completed medical school and postgraduate training at the University of Western Ontario in 1997. She practiced family medicine in New Jersey, Alberta, and Ontario before choosing to further her education with a Sports and Exercise Medicine Fellowship from McMaster University which she completed in March 2013. She successfully challenged the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine diploma exam in November 2012. The domain of the Sports and Exercise Medicine specialists has moved beyond the boundaries of treating the elite athlete. Equally important is treating the recreational athlete and assisting in the nonsurgical management of osteoarthritis to enable maintenance of an active lifestyle, and prescribing exercise in the management of obesity, diabetes and other chronic diseases.
